Children's Liturgy Instructions
Dear
Instructors,
With our schedule beginning at 9:00 and 11:00, it is
important to parents that you are there ahead of time to supervise the children
who arrive early so the children’s parents can return to Mass on time. The asterisked person should be in the
children’s liturgy room 15 minutes ahead of class time. We asked that there always
be an adult in the room. To facilitate
finding a substitute we have an (A) or (S) after each name so that you will
know to which category each belongs.
·
TV/VCR and video tapes when appropriate
·
gospel story papers to color
·
crayons
·
books with children’s Bible stories and
questions to discuss
To help you prepare for
your task, it is expected that you:
·
be in the meeting room 15 minutes
before Mass
·
become acquainted with the Sunday readings
prior to class
·
become adept at story telling/reading
·
keep the children’s attention
·
prepare the story and questions from the
workbook ahead of time
·
check your name and write the number in attendance
·
have someone alert you when the homily is
completed
·
line up the children during the Creed
·
bring the children quietly back to church during
the collection
·
before the 9:00 Mass put the vinyl covers
on the tables
·
after 11:00 Mass fold up the vinyl table
covers
·
check the floor for crayons and push the
chairs up to the tables
·
invite children who have received First
Communion or who will receive this year to please return to Mass
*If you cannot be there, please call
someone else from the list to substitute and call your partner so she knows who
will be coming in your place. Remember
we must have an adult in the room. If
you have received the lesson material, please see to it that the substitute has
it ahead of time. If you have further questions, concerns or
needs, please call Deb Poss (239-8888)
